I wonder if it is possible to send a letter advising our soldiers not to
serve in Iraq on the grounds that they can be prosecuted for war crimes?Just as the Lord Goldsmith had warned Blair about that possibility.

1. No
First off, NOT serving in Iraq will get them thrown in jail a lot quicker than serving will, so you're providing bad legal advice.
Second, it's a lie. They won't be prosecuted for war crimes, and I'm sure you know that.
Third, give'em a break. They're already gonna be dodging bullets for a year or more. The last thing they need is a letter like that getting sent to them.

3. BOY, is it obvious YOU never served in the military!
Sometime, you need to read the enlistment forms and see what each one agrees to when they sign those forms!

Your idea will never happen and SHOULDN'T!

4. Goldsmith is British. Our government doesn't take war crimes
seriously. As if Gonzalez would prosecute troops for war crimes when they are only doing the Bush Crime Family's bidding.
