Preponderance of oddly evocative language?

Has anyone else noticed how the phrases "shoved in our faces" and "rammed down our throats" invariably appear in Right-wing diatribes against anything relating to homosexuality (and, I suppose, to sexuality in general)? Feel free to recount similar examples that you've encountered.

I don't object to such spicy language, but I marvel at how smoothly it slides into the aching cavern of Republican sentiment, especially when the latter nominally maintains a strong opposition to it. One can feel the hot and steamy invective fairly pulsing with breathless excitement.

Thoughts?

(Edited to remove a typo. The rampant thrill of this probing topic overwhelmed my swollen and livid rhetoric.)
