1. Only thing he's been leading is
the line for seconds (& thirds) for some Wendy's finger chili.
Hmmm Mmmmm, Human Finger Chili. That's finger lickin' good.

2. Jon Stewart
I loved Jon Stewart's comment when they showed a full-length picture of Hastert: "He looks like he just ate Ebert."

3. I wonder...
are they "retreating" because they are truly feeling the heat and know this is the only way they can get off the hot seat, or are they eager to proceed because they have some reason to think he will ultimately be cleared of all wrong doing?

4. Do you mean Delay?
This article is in regard to the effort to end the filibuster.

6. Yes, Delay.
Before now, they were all to happy to conduct an investigation IF the Dems on the ethics committee would agree to the new rule-changes. The same changes pushed through by the Repugs that soften the rules and make it easy for Delay to escape unharmed. But now they are willing to do the investigation under the old rules, so they are willing to proceed without making the Dems cave in.

Maybe they know he's in trouble, and this is the best way and fastest way to get rid of him and shake the dust off their feet.

5. now this is really interesting (and funny)
I wonder why, other than they may have done some polling and are finding out that a lot of people don't cotton to this unethical crap.
