How does the DLC rationalize "Blair Democrats" given the BBC
scandal. The DLC has said they want us to emulate Blair, and be "Blair Democrats". Blair is trying to destroy the BBC and replace it with Murdock owned news services. Does the DLC want us to kill what is left of the objective non right wing media? The people who persecuted Bill Clinton, are the people who will be rewarded if we become "Blair Democrats"! If they take responsibility for Bill Clinton why are they helping his persectutors? What kind of self destructive fools are running the dlc.

1. Sometimes it seems to me...
...that the DLC leadership hates "liberals" more than the Republicans do. They would appease any effort to destroy that which they consider to be the opposition, which apparently isn't the GOP, but the "Democratic wing of the Democratic party"...

2. I looked on google and it seems that Blair has been---
screwing over the unions. Unions are part of the Democratic Base. What the "new democrats" are suggesting is self-destructive.

3. it ain't the half of it
screwing them over puts it ligtly mate. Bliar has gone around privatising everything the tories never had the guts to get at and refusing to give an inch to the union movement. As a result, almost all the major unions are electing far-left (borderline Marxists) candidates to be general secretary, and the railway workers union is on the verge of disaffiliation! The Labour party membership has dropped from 400,000 to 250,000 in the last few years, and unions are still ~40% of the general party conference, but Bliar doesn't seem to give a damn.

The thing is, Bliar a centre-right politician in charge of a largly left-wing party. But its very difficult to do anything about it because there is no credible progressive alternative. It has taken 6 years of ditching every traditional labour ideal for things to come to a head here. Bliarisation stands for removal of choice, plain and simple.
