Re: judges - Has anyone brought up the Repubs' "blue slip" tactics?
Back in the Clinton days, the 'pukes didn't even bother filibustering, they used the "blue slip" procedure (where ONE senator from a state could block federal judge nominees by holding up paperwork).

Democrats appearing on shows discussing the current issue should bring this up constantly. At least the filibuster is an agreed-upon Senate rule that's been around for 200 years. That blue slip crap was a bureaucratic loophole the Republicans abused.

3. Did it work ?
Many times. It was like a backdoor filibuster - without having to do any of the work. Just lay down a "blue slip"...but they did away with that little "rule" once they got in power. Assholes!

2. It would probably be good tactics to constantly talk about bringing blue
slips back.

4. Yes, and They Also Used the Tactic of
simply not holding hearings on nominees. In some cases hearings were delayed four years.
