Bush asks fake town hall crowd about local gay event - Splash Day
Edited on Wed Apr-27-05 08:24 AM by KurtNYC
AM New York, a local free paper ran this AP story under the hand holding photo and with a headline reading "Bush's Gay Faux Pas"

GALVESTON, Texas -- President Bush drew laughs from his audience Tuesday when he asked whether the Galveston area still hosts "Splash Day."

The annual beach party that dates to the 1950s does live on -- but now as an unofficial gay and lesbian event.
...
Splash Day once marked the end of school and the beginning of summertime fun. The city backed off from it many years ago when it turned a little too wild, says Christy Benson of the Galveston Chamber of Commerce. It later became a party day for gays and lesbians.

I am surprised that everyone who laughed was not tackled, kicked and spit on and then escorted off the set. We are so in bizarro world.

2. he shoulda asked about it in Austin
4000 screaming drunk queens and dykes and 3000 of their screaming drunk straight wanna-be-cool-too friends running around Hippy Hollow in clothing optional birthday suits swilling bear and throwing beads. Now THAT's a party folks!

3. Why is this not Bush-code?
I believe Bushco speaks in code. Certain phrases, certain announcements designed to reach areas and individuals in government, civilian and international posistions en masse using the Press as a conduit. Remember the "shock and awe" statement by Rummy? Turns out it was the title of a report on a military style authored in the 1980s or something (mentioned in the documentary Hijacking Catastrophy)? The Green shoes? I think a lot of this goes on without us realizing.

There have been many discussions on DU about Chimp's alleged homosexual, uh, "coincidences". Allegation with regard to James Bath. He had an apartment in the Montrose area of Houston (I do miss the antique shops there), Guckert. He spent many years carousing the Gulf area, he knows what goes on there.

Maybe this is a message. Maybe he's in need of some 9" cut. Maybe he's been under fire and isolated too long and needs someone to pull up behind him and show him who the real boss is. Maybe he's sending out a message to his pimps, or maybe just a plaintive whimper of desire to his good friend Jeff.
