a question about AIDS and the african american community...

..I was talking yesterday with a couple african american males who believe that AIDS was introduced in Africa to exterminate the population- does anyone out there know the catylst for this belief/theory?

gives a huge boost to such conspiracy theories.
Researchers intentionally withheld treatment

with syphilis to study the effects of the disease.
The medical establishment is still not fully trusted.

Nobel Prize Winner Says HIV Began In Lab

(Cape Town, South Africa) Wangari Maathai, the first African woman to win the Nobel Peace Prize, has caused a storm of controversy with claims that HIV/AIDS is a deliberately created biological agent.

"Some say that AIDS came from the monkeys, and I doubt that because we have been living with monkeys from time immemorial, others say it was a curse from God, but I say it cannot be that," Maathai said.

Maathai is Kenya's deputy environment and natural resources minister and a world renowned ecologist told reporters in Nairobi that HIV was designed to cause genocide.

"Us black people are dying more than any other people in this planet," she said.

"It's true that there are some people who create agents to wipe out other people. If there were no such people, we could have not have invaded Iraq," she said.
