Suze Orman Show

I'm just curious about what everybody thinks about this show. I usually end up watching it at like 3 in the morning because there's nothing else but infomercials, but I've found it actually to be quite interesting.

Although I disagree with her sometimes when she tries to give people life advice and obviously she's pretty obnoxious (which is the reason she has a TV show in the first place), I think that her show does a good job of teaching people how to avoid becoming slaves of the credit industry.

All in all I think that it's about time that there was a show like this. I just wish that it reached a wider audience.

1. Psycho Suze

She contradicts herself every other day on the egregious CNBC. Robert Shiller disses her hard in both editions of Irrational Exuberance. I remember her declaring categorically that an S&P 500 Index Fund "will return 10% a year."


Idiot. On par with the "Rich Dad/Poor Dad" guy.

is another one. i thought he was good, hearing his "minutes" on aar, then i went to his website and found out he was a fundie. waaaaa. i was ready to get his program, cuz our finances are kinda out of control. but i got the willies just loggin' in.

4. Her legal advice sucks too

all of her estate planning advice is so superficial that is misleading, and in my opinion, geared toward selling her legal forms software package. Besides being the unauthorized practice of law.... imho.

7. She's selling snake oil, but I saw her get ripped by a serious RW'er...

...recently who tried to make her out to be a communist.

She makes it sound like anybody can get rich without risk, which is a little dangerous.

But I saw her interviewed about her advice not to go into heavy debt on a local news show. The local newscaster cut her off abruptly and said that youth is the time to go into heavy debt. It was absurd of him to say this, and he went on and on basically not letting Suze get a word in edge-wise, but I'm sure all the local station's advertisers had an orgasm when they heard that newscaster berate Orman for telling people not to spend all their money on useless consumer goods.
