Man tells police dead mother kept in freezer for years
LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (AP) -- A man told police he kept his mother's corpse in a basement freezer for more than four years while he collected her Social Security checks, authorities said Monday. A body was found encased in ice, in a sitting position.

Philip Schuth, 52, told police his elderly mother, Edith, died of natural causes in August 2000, but that he didn't tell anyone because he was afraid police would blame him, according to documents filed in court Monday.

He said his mother years beforehand was attacked by a cat and her blood was on the walls in the house they shared, and he feared police would think he killed her, according to the documents.

A cat? What, a mountain lion maybe.

3. An angry, cornered housecat is like a hairy chainsaw.
I once had a cat who would throw periodic snot slinging fits, and yes, she did draw considerable blood.

The blood pattern would be drips on the floor rather than a spray pattern on the walls. Autopsy and forensics will tell the difference.

7. I have to agree with you about the cat
I was in the middle of moving, and I had to leave my 2 with my mom, my girl had just had a litter of 3.

anyway, my mom had many cats at the time, so I had to leave mine in my old bedroom. Mom went in to check in on them and the adults attacked her to the point she should have had stitches on one of her legs, thankfully, my brother was there and helped her.

They were scared (in a strange place) and they were protecting their kittens. Cats can be vicious when protecting their young. Who knows what they could have done to an elderly person. But... I do have a hard time swallowing this guys story, but... stranger things have happened. Time will tell.

4. My cat got terrified by a new dog. I got 150 puncture wounds getting him
to a safe room, about 10 feet away. I counted them. However, I think this guy is a nutter.

5. I Had my new kitten almost rip my ear off
He was just a little guy, and I was holding him when he was scared by a knock on the door. He freaked out, and clawed his way over my shoulder. I had a ripped open cheek, and five perfect puncture wound through the HARD part of my ear!!! When I looked in the mirror, the whole left side of my face was covered in blood, and it hurt like hell! He's now an 18-lb sweetie, and not as skittish -- Thank Goddess!

However, I still think this dude killed his mama for the government checks. Yet ANOTHER reason against Social Security!

6. Mines a big old sweetie too! Amazing what a few teeth and 20 claws can do.
He was about a year old at the time. One of the bites went right through my thumbnail. The funny thing is he adored that dog once he got to know him. Followed him around, slept by him. Yowled when he went outside.
Cat scratches and bites do hurt and it's amazing how much blood comes out of those little holes. Your poor ear, that had to hurt even more.

Beware of cat scratch fever!
