are affected by pheromones, which is more likly the cause of sychronized cycles among women who live together or spend lots of time together. Why? I have no idea, but that's the explanation I've always heard. 28 days is the average cycle, but there are many that go shorter and many that go longer.

I think this must relate to Howard Stern. Arnold called in to his show last week, and Howard had been talking about blowing up the moon, because he said that would do away with tsunamis and lunar cycles, and something related to women's cycles, etc-all very tongue in cheek and not at all serious. When Arnold called in, he was just going along with the joke.
