Serious question...can ethics charges be brought from 1982?
Or is this even relevent. Let me explain.
When I was young, I sat a year out of college in 1982 and lived in Beeville, Tx.
I worked as a desk clerk at a local hotel called Drummers Inn.
We had "house accounts" that we direct billed companies or organizations for services rendered. This was in the days before computers.
Poppy Bush, Jeb and Neil ( I do not remember W--because at that time he was a nobody) used to go to Beeville to go dove hunting (not sure if they still do).
In 1982 (it would have been September) those 3, as well quite a few secret service agents all came to the Drummers Inn for several days of hunting and it was all billed to the US Government--it was a sum in the amount of thousands of dollars.
Is that legal or was it back then? I have always been curious about this.

1. why would this be illegal
Poppy was VP then and it would be have justified for the government to pick up his vacation tabs

2. there is no statute of limitations on stealing from the federal government
but you need written records and witnesses to provide incontrovertible proof.
