that must be fashion, so I will wear it. This frump has never understood line and grace. The jacket is cut so that it emphasizes her matronly hips and the pants are too short. The shoes do not match and she could have used something graceful around her neck. She looks wrinkled and I sometimes wonder if her arms ever bend at the elbow when she walks. The sleeves are way too large and bulky.

Let's not mention the plastered hair and the need for a real good bra.

So, the propriety of Laura wearing white might not be the issue. But the color (especially in a shiny version) does not suit her at all. And the cut is dreadful--"Wide Load"! In my experience, Latin American ladies DRESS--formal or not, they make an effort.

Not everybody is able to dress themselves flatteringly, but Laura could certainly get help. Perhaps she isn't able to listen to criticism. The "What Not to Wear" girls could really do her a service.
