It is obvious that he is his stated age, not a decade or more younger. Ears, which do not change, are not the same. Face is different. They do not look alike at all. Thus, I do not think your scenario has any hope whatsoever of being realized.

I have not followed this Gannon/Gosch story at all (in fact until today I didn't realize what the story was) but while watching today...my take was that Gannon just looked like he was involved in some other unsavory deal.

In other words Gannon looks like more and more of a sleeze all the time--even if people don't believe the Gosch story (and I don't to be quite frank) this doesn't reflect well on Gannon's credibility.

He could clear up this mystery very easily by parading a number of personal witnesses etc and yet he chooses to continue to parade around looking like an asshole and a male whore--JMO

This guy (Dietl) has some sort of agenda about his "friend" Gannon/Guckert.

I won't be convinced unless (something like) an impartial testing facility takes the DNA sample on camera with Dietl not present, and it is sent to at least 2 other independent facilities as a cross-check to be typed. The multiple samples could be examined for a match with each other to make it unlikely that switching samples in the lab later had occurred. Then they could be checked against the Gosch DNA.

Any slip-shod theatrics Dietl arranges wouldn't mean anything.

Would there still be a possibility of fraud? Sure, but the method of collection and testing should be as fool-proof as possible.

The thing is, I think that if G/G is the lost kid, then a whole can of worms opens. I don't think the "powers that be" are going to facilitate finding that out. More to the point, if those connections to Franklin exist, they'll do every thing in their power to cover it up.

Including some fake DNA test. Even some more mysterious plane crashes or "interesting" suicides.

If G/G/G exists, the whole of the hierarchy of the current and past GOP administrations will be implicated in such a treacherous cabal, MSM will not be able to ignore it. The walls will crumble.
