Edited on Fri Apr-22-05 01:57 PM by spanone
Is this whole fucking country crazy??? Am I wrong or wouldn't you raise the standards????? WTF? How many DIED in the last shuttle?

~snip~ NASA officials have loosened the standards for what constitutes an acceptable risk of damage from the kind of debris that led to the disintegration of the shuttle Columbia as it was returning from space two years ago, internal documents show. ~snip~

1. That's just a fancy way of saying that nothing's fixed...
...from the last shuttle disaster.

2. It really is time to bag the shuttle program.
The odds are not all that much better than russian roulette.

6. more than that it's time to purge NASA of managers
and bring back the engineers, safety officers, scientists, the knowhow.

Granted, the shuttle is more expensive then such a program would need to be. It does need to be replaced. It probably wouldn't exist in the first place if it were left entirely to the engineers and scientists.

3. All that remains is for them to call it
the "Safe Space Initiative."
