Earth Day- Who is the World's Greatest Polluter?
The U.S. war machine is the world's greatest polluter. The Pentagon injects the poison of environmental terrorism all over the globe.

-The U.S. military generates nearly a ton of toxic pollution every minute-500,000 tons of toxics annually-more than the five leading chemical companies combined.

-There are more than 14,000 contaminated military sites in the U.S., many located near low-income neighborhoods and communities of color.

-More than 200 tons of hazardous waste have been dumped in the Philippines

-The U.S. refuses to take responsibility for the land mines and unexploded cluster bombs it has left in many regions, reducing arable land and bio-diversity and posing an ongoing deadly threat.

-U.S. commitment to nuclear weapons and energy has produced more than a billion pounds of depleted uranium DU waste.

-The Pentagons assault on the environment destroys fragile ecosystems

-The Pentagon is exempt from the Endangered Species and Marine Mammals Protection Acts.

no other group of people have ever had such a disregard for the environment.

US Navy photo USS Saipan departs for it's annual "humanitarian" mission in Haiti with an Expeditionary Strike Force. Will it provide Cité Soliel "relief" from it's dreams of democracy, while it helps Buteur with US imposed elections?

7. yep the enviromentalists
I used to live in Washington DC and went to an Earth Day celebration. By the time those Greenies were done yelling about the pollution and destruction of the Earth, the Washington Mall looked like a "dump" site. They literally had to bring in bulldozers front end loaders and dump trucks to remove the literal tons of filth left behind by folks professing to "save the planet"

8. Hmmm
Wonder how that would compare with 120,000 pieces of unexploded ordinance and buried chemical warfare agents left in the Panama Canal Zone. Or the rice paddies in Viet Nam poisoned by Agents Orange, Blue and White.

I know you want to learn more.

6. Its well documented that US Navy is the biggest polluter of San Diego Bay.
Oil/fuel, trash, sewage, smoke/fumes, solvents. I was a ship repair specialist and contractors aer held to strict standard concerning wastes and pollutants. The Navy dumps so much shit in the bay and gets away with it.

12. I did the analysis for Norfolk Naval and Jax Naval Air
And I must respectfully disagree. I was responsible for the analysis of both of those bases for compliance of NPDES and VPDES. 1993-2000.
These sites were constantly monitored for metals, organics, and nutrients.

The permitted discharge limits for those sites was (insanely) low.
As an example, the WWTP for Jax was limited to <3 ppb Cu. But according to EPA regs, 1000 ppb (1ppm)Cu is okay for drinking water. (Actual limits may be different, it's been 5 years). I was responsible for meeting the Method Detection Limits for an ICP, for those discharge sites.

10. Yes
but conquerors are great. Aren't they?

In 1991 Gulf War US forces fired 630,000 DU rounds leaving enough DU in Kuwait and Iraq to cause tens of thousands of cancers, genetic mutations and death.
