LMAO!! Mother Nature prevents Bush from visiting my area for Earth Day
Edited on Fri Apr-22-05 11:34 AM by Clark2008
George Bush was supposed to visit my area - the Great Smoky Mountains National Park - for a celebration of Earth Day.
The skies this morning were beautiful and clear. I had a job interview and encountered very little traffic since the weather was so peachy.
Then, about 30 minutes ago - just MINUTES, literally, before Bush was to arrive at the airport - storms and high-speed winds RAPIDLY engulfed the area, forcing Bush to cancel his engagement at Cades Cove in the Smokies.
According to the local news, they're not even sure if he'll be able to land at the airport because of the storms.

 Hey, Georgie! It's not NICE to RUIN Mother Nature.

I had shut off my computer and taken the dogs into the hallway in case of a tornado! That's how bad it was! In just MINUTES.

LOL... news is saying he will land, give a statement and then turn around and head back to DC... no Cades Cove for SURE for Shrub... hee hee.

12. Lovin' it!
Not that anyone really gives a hoot in hell what Bush says on Earth Day. Not that he himself believes a single syllable of his smarmy green bullshit.

But to have Nature put her foot down and prevent him from even squawking his photo-op platitudes is bloody marvelous!

Now that the decision has been made to cancel the visit - the skies are clearing up and the sun's peaking back through.

6. GWB Quote 3/9/05:
PRESIDENT BUSH: " Well, I think one thing -- I'll never forget my trip to Bucharest -- it was the rainbow speech. (Laughter.) It was a mystical experience for me. It was one of the most amazing moments of my presidency, to be speaking in the square, the very square where Ceausescu gave his last speech. And the rainbow that I saw in the midst of the rainstorm ended right behind the balcony from my point of view. It's a clear signal that, as far as I was concerned, that freedom is powerful..."

So what does he make of todays portent?

27. Everywhere he goes, it pisses down on him
Remember his first inauguration? His appearance at the Clinton library? There were even dire warnings about the wx at the Pope burial--the wind was whipping through the piazza. And now this...

It just ain't NICE to fool with Mother Nature!

28. Mother Natures way of keeping shit out of the Smokies.
George was in a hurry to get to the western 'ranch' white house. He spoke for ten minutes in a hanger and was gone. He could give a rat's ass about the environment.
