Coining - "august assassination" of character, ROVE dirty trick

I think the October Surprise is overhyped...what is much more effective for the Republicans is the "august assassination", as in what they did in August '04 with the swifities. It pushed up Kerry's negatives right before the election and this, more then anything, sunk Kerry.

So lets all pushed this meme.

I think the only way we can defang the ROVE/RNC dirty trick operation is to label them with catchy names, spread the idea far and wide. That way we can blast them and make it backfire.

but had Kerry actually RESPONDED...TIMELY and FORCEFULLY...to the Swift Boat Liars for Profit, it would not have been HALF of the issue it turned out to be...

Just my opinion, however...perhaps it would have sunk him nonetheless...

His response was "No Response". If he had reacted, the effect would have been greatly mitigated. Allowing MSM to give the Swift Boat Liars for Profit more attention than they deserved with no response was a major error.

3. Kerry could've won the election

and taken back the country if he hadn't been so "civil" during the election. He should've labeled the chimp what the country knows (subconsciously) he is. A sniveling, fake born-again, draft dodging, lying wimp. Kerry thought that the "high road" was going to play in a land where "reality TV" is the popular culture. He was wrong and lost because he didn't correctly assess his audience, and his opponent. WE got screwed because he made crucial errors in tactics, and perhaps because he's not a bare-knuckled brawler (despite having been a prosecutor a long time ago).
