Who's Starting To Like Harry Reid?

IMHO, this guy has done more in a few months than Daschle did in years. Reid is avuncular and folksy, but has balls of steel.

Fingers crossed, looks like he's possibly won on Bolton, on the nuclear option and is rapidly derailing Frist's presidential ambitions.

He is helping to lay the groundwork for what could be a very successful 06.

He's such a gentleman - soft-spoken and well-mannered.

5. I like him too

Sure I disagree with some things but for the most part I like him. I like how he's an attack dog and doesn't dwaddle to respond to threats and whatnot. When the republicans put out a report on how to attack him he was right there back in their faces. I was impressed when I saw him for the first time on "Meet the Press" back in December last year. He was talking about Social Security and was against Bush's plan and all that. He's firm and clear on his message. He and Mrs. Pelosi do great together.

When that happened, I thought "Whoa, Nellie" there's someone I need to know more about. Since then I've been keeping with Sen. Reid and found that he's not a publicity hound, just a good, effective work hound. And he's got lots of courage.

in the nuclear option fight puts him in my hall of fame. This nuclear option is a brush with tyranny.

Mike Malloy said something to the effect that the poor democrats get so excited with one of the democratic congress reps or senators shows just a little bit of spine -- but then they rarely follow through with the VOTE.

Reid keeps voting for bastards -- he is mostly show and no blow.

He is a conservative -- and isn't a real democrat.

Almost like clockwork these -- ah gee -- Reid is showing spine . . . posts appear.

He still voted for the bad guys . . . . His voting RECORD isn't that good.

I'll say it again -- and get slammed and then he will NOT come through with the vote and everyone slams me will never apologist. Such is my fate about being correct about this DINO.

Do I like all his votes? No. But he HAS held firm on the biggest threat facing us, the nuclear option, and has vowed to slow the Senate to a crawl if they dare go there.

11. I've liked him since the first day I saw him speak as leader. You have to

listen carefully to Harry, he gets his point across sometimes boldly and sometimes subtlely. I call him the Mouse that Roars! My favorite quote thus far from him is:

"Shut up and vote is not Democracy!"

He has good potential as a leader simply because his mindset and the extent to which he is willing to fight for the Party is acceptable (a rarity in today's Senate).

I like that he's a fighter, but ultimately his personal beliefs and votes don't resonate with me.

But he hates Republicans like I do and seems to want to fight them, and that's more than I can say for most of our reps.

13. I knew he was a good choice for the dems

because I saw him stand in the Senate hour after hour, during a filibuster about which I cannot remember, reading from his book and doing it with humour. He struck me, even then, as someone with an iron fist enclosed in a velvet glove.

it was charming, imo, as well as showing he was DETERMINED in fulfilling his part in the filibuster. It impressed me on two levels, I thought his book might be worth reading and, also, there was a backbone in evidence in the man I was watching.

He has done a great job for the most part. I don't always agree with everything he says, but damn it...We got a proactive leader.
