I got to thinking today, what are the chances that Ratzinger stole the election? No paper trail (ballots burned), no transparency, no public debate, no exit polls.

3. I think he's been the Pope for quite awhile

At least for the several months to a year because of Pope John Paul's bad health.

I just don't get the fuss over the election of a religious leader. Except that he takes peoples minds off the crap the right wing is pulling.

Benedict XVI picked that name because he thinks the rapture is soon coming? IMO Bush & crew are all fundie wackos; they shun more progressive Christian denominations and denounce anything that has to do with S E X. They declare culture of lifestyles while killing innocent people in foreign countries. Basically they all have a deathwish and I wonder if this new Pope bought into it.
