PETA thinks new pope may be an ally
Well, finally one positve article on Pope Benedict XVI :)

PETA believes that the new pope is an animal rights supporter based on comments he made three years ago, fired off a letter to the Pope asking him to "urge people to consider the suffering of animals..."

2. Someone should send Benedict a copy of Frist's book
Bookmarked on the cat killing passage. Just so he's aware of what a monstrous psychopath Frist really is, come election 2008.

4. Ehhh... murder and torture ain't shit to the fundies
However, if it's sex related, well...

That's one thing I admired about PJPII. He walked his talk and didn't play favorites when it came to either violence or sex. He didn't suck up to the fundie element (who likely hated his guts anyways for being Catholic). I get the feeling Benedict16 has more of a bug up his ass about bedroom issues and will look the other way in regard to violence and repression.

5. Well, if he is in fact against animal cruelty
That would bother him. I DO hope that he continues more in JP's tradition, though I'm not supremely confident. We'll see, I guess.

3. OH MY GOD

Snip: “We’re not expecting him to appear in one of our ‘I’d rather go naked than wear fur’ ads,” a PETA spokesman told The Scoop"

HAHAHAHAHA... thank you, PETA.
