When Dems are accused of being disunified...
How do you respond to that? I think inclusiveness is a good thing, and what government should strive for especially is the U.S. The Christian Heaven/Hell post made be think of this, since Republicans seem almost exclusively Christian, and it almost seems to be a requirement of being in their party. Dems have no such restrictions, and therefore we are accused of being disunified.

2. Don't even respond.
jsut ask the person if they are a goose-stepping christo-fascist along a la delay et al.

then ask him/her to explain the apparent disparity between saying they're the party of small-government and actually acting like a bunch of busybodies intent on messing in everyone's personal lives.

then ask where the unity is between moderate republicans and their wingnut cousins.

3. 50 separate states call themselves united. It's like that.

4. Easy response
Say something like:

It's not disunity, it's diversity. The Democratic Party welcomes a whole range of views. There are pro-gun and pro-gun-control Dems. There aro pro- and anti-death penalty Dems. There are, in oher words, all sorts of Dems.
Republicans, on the other hand march in lockstep and disagree on nothing. And yet you call the Dems out for their disunity? We see that diversity as a strength and a chance to share ideas. And we see closed and narrow minds as the sad results of ignorance."

How's that?

5. Straight up, yes!
Being a progressive can provide many different answers to the same question. The reason being we try to see what is good for the group rather than the individual, hence many people, many different answers. The conservatives on the other hand have a different take on the situation which is everybody for themselves. As far as the Christian thing goes, one can take 10 different people, let them interpret the Bible and get 10 different answers, so your answer to the Christian beliefs of the Republican Party is who is interpreting the Bible. Many people who are Christian who are not of the Republican Party question their motives. This will be an ongoing discussion, it is a matter of power.

This discussion can also be directed at the Koran or any other religious writings.

Lets not forget there is a corporate influence here that is controlling the masses. Religion is a back door to controlling the masses. We need to remember probation, sure religion and many women were in the forefront, but corporations where in the background financing and organizing these groups in hope of the better worker.

Besides, in all of this mess what happened to the radical priest?
