Poll question: Poll about political leanings and Republican power
It's simple yes or no. Could you accept a slight shift to the right on such issues as gun control and immigration if it meant four or more Republican Senators shifting to the Democratic Party and the Republicans losing all power within four years?

Just a question.

1. I could, but I don't think those are exactly our strongest issues anyway.
I'm a moderate on gun control and I think our current border control is a joke. So I might not be the best person to ask.

3. What exactly is the Right's position on immigration, anyway?
I'm not in a border state so I don't follow the issue closely, but it seems everybody, left and right, is all over the place on it. I'm not even sure what the issue IS.

10. To be honest, I don't think ANYBODY has a stance on immigration
which is what's really the problem.

11. Well, here's mine.
Whatever laws are in place have to be enforced. No making lax immigration by passing tough laws and then simply looking the other way for an unfair situation where we have no idea who is here. If we want lax laws, make lax laws.

Also, I believe in an ID card. Yes, I know it will never work.

12. Thank you, Walt. I really dislike getting facetious answers (like above)
when I'm asking a real question.

As soon as somebody in our elected government defines what the immigration issue is, I'll begin to know what I think about it. I imagine there is more than a single issue anyway.

4. Hell, I'll do both & I'll give 'em more states' rights, on top of it
as long as it doesn't have to do with civil rights (which I don't include gay marriage to be -- I'm for civil unions for everyone -- gay adoption, though, is a civil right.) or abortion.

And I want a Howitzer, tomorrow.

9. Too easy.
Gun control is already lost for time being, immigration is an issue of degrees (some more, some fewer, and enforcing what there is).

One is given up, and the other isn't an "issue".
