RW Anti-Filibuster Conference. Very Important - All should read
Edited on Thu Apr-21-05 10:06 AM by ck4829
At a conference on the judiciary last week, sponsored by the Judeo-Christian Council for Constitutional Restoration (JCCCR), the movement began to take a more menacing form.

Perkins, Dobson, and other leaders of the religious right will also make it clear to their supporters that helping the Bush administration in its efforts to pack the courts with Antonin Scalia-type conservatives is the only way to save the republic from what Dobson has described as an impending “long night of paganism.”

As presently constituted, Perkins will point out, the federal judiciary presents a far greater danger to the United States than many other threats facing Americans today. “The court has become increasingly hostile to Christianity, and it poses a greater threat to representative government -- more than anything, more than budget deficits, more than terrorist groups,” he said last week.

Judging from some of the other speakers who joined him on the podium at the JCCCR conference last week, Perkins isn’t the only one convinced that the U.S. judiciary is more dangerous than al-Qaeda.

And, pay attention to the last paragraph.

Kay Daly, of the faux-grassroots Coalition for a Fair Judiciary, made it clear to JCCCR conference attendees that honest debate and respect for the truth won’t be priorities when it comes to pressuring Congress to accept conservative judges. “Our role in this upcoming fight for filibuster reform and Supreme Court nominations will be akin to that of …” -- here she paused and then continued with a smirk -- “let’s just say, the Swift Boat Vets.”

Mixing Lies and Deception with Christianity. They are more Anti-Christian than some of the DU'ers are alleged to be! (Just a joke about DU'ers being Anti-Religious, so don't smite me!)

6. The General American Public needs to have the opportunity
to read that paragraph and know what is truly behind the arguments being promoted. The MSM needs to get this out there.

3. And after the Hate Fest planned for Sunday in Kentucky
when Judges or members of their families are harmed by ignorant jerk water patriots inspired by religious zealots and republican opportunists, those responsible will slink behind the bible and wail about how they are being persecuted.

The window is about to be broken. And perkins is out of his friggin mind stating that courts are hostile to christianity. However, he does know his audience, the ignorant, constitution hating bastards who spend their day on free republic avoiding facts and looking for a reason to do harm to anyone. The values party my ass. The gop is enslaved to religious zealots and is the party of hate.

4. I wonder how they will define activism
It has been my perception that Extreme Right Wing Judges are very much activists so I guess it will depend on how much they can gerrymander their definition so as to only apply to what they consider Liberal and I consider right of center. IOW the judges that said police can enter and search your house without a warrant if it is for drugs. (No Knock Policy) are conservative judges and I consider that activism. The US Constitution is quite explicit on this. It will all be in the definition. I suspect conservatives are more guilty of "Activism" than Liberals. Liberals are more apt to follow the Letter of the Law such as in Florida 2000 election..Florida Law dictated what Gore could do as far as recounts and he followed the law to his detriment.

8. And using filibusters!
Today the cretins are bitching about the use of the filibuster. Who the fuck abused it to tears in the 90's? Just change the rules or remove committee members who will absorb the truth and come to fair and honest outcomes. And, appoint religious zealots to positions of power ONLY BECAUSE THE GOP IS NOW A SLAVE TO RELIGIOUS ZEALOTS.
