Videogamers Being Recruited By Republicans?
It's kind of interesting seeing this forum my friend posts at about videogames. It seems that a lot of Republican posters have infiltrated these forums that are mostly dominated by younger people, some of them who may have recently registered to vote. Here they are talking about how the media has slandered DeLay. Pretty much he's telling me that these posters only came along after the election started to get publicised. It's almost as if a lot of them just came out of the woodwork to manipulate public opinion.

I remember a few months ago one of these videogame magazines was encouraging young people to go out and vote in the last election specifically about videogames. A chart listed who had voted on legislation against videogame violence. The majority of the people on that list were Democrats. It was either in Electronic Gaming Monthly or Playstation Magazine. I can't remember.

3. BTW, How Many People Have Been To A Non-Political Forum..
and people doing this have come out of nowhere and right after the election they were gone. I remember lurking on some of the OT forums at Rottentomatoes. That seemed to happen over there.

4. I did a lot of that before the election.
I'd go, be friendly, speak baout whatever the topic was. Before you know it, someone would say something political. I'd see the general tone of the group, then make a few remarks regarding politics. The ones who were the warmest, I'd PM. I found quite a few Kerry volunteers that way!

5. I responded
"If the media is giving attention to Tom DeLay, He must've done something very bad. Like Michael Jackson molesting little boys or getting a blow job by Paris Hilton under his desk.

He probably deserves it. They all do. Especially the holy-roller Christian guys who tell other people how to live their lives, and then go cheat with their boyfriends.:eyes:"

6. I cancelled my MAD magazine subscription...
...because there was an obvious republican slant.

Yes - I think its likely that the Right's plan includes targetting youngsters.

7. Well, if they are, here's one gamer they'll NEVER ensnare
I know enough about the difference between virtual and real violence--more than can be said for children of fundie parents who are allowed to play violent video games, but not allowed to watch PG-13 movies.

8. I Found That Videogame Voting Article, BTW
Edited on Sun Apr-17-05 03:37 PM by InfoMinister
It's in the November 2004 issue of the Official U.S. Playstation Magazine. The article's name is The Videogame Vote: Educate Yourself, and Be Ready For November.

In the right-hand corner is a list of Relevant Reps. who supported House Resolution 669. It would be interesting to see how many of these people lost the election. Here's a scanned image from the magazine.
