U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison an embarrassment to Texas
Her quotes from the NRA convention in Texas:

U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison invoked one of the crowd's favorite enemies.

"The French government has raised its terror alert from 'run' to 'hide,'" she joked, bringing a round of laughter. "The only higher levels in France are 'surrender' and 'collaborate.'"

Geez. That is pretty insulting. Wonder what the French are thinking?

6. There are laws against this kind of speech
Kay is totally out of order. She is not just an ordinary citizen mouthing off, she's a friggin' US Senator. She is suppose to represent the WHOLE country. I do not want any representative of MY COUNTRY, acting this recklessly in public.

We need to call her and let her know how we feel about this serious breech.

15. Thanks for the prompt. Hutchison is a real embarrassment.
I just wrote her and told her her comments before the NRA were seditious and contemptuous of the history of the two nations.

first. Thanks anyway. And yes, she stands alone as being Contemptous!

Right next to Georgie, Rick and all the GD' rest of their ailing lot.

Failed to mention DELAY!

How can these asses be in positions of responsibility? So much for the concept of a meritocracy...

11. Bigotry thrives in the Republican Party.
It is a prerequisite for admission to the GOP, and is the driving force behind the Conservative Movement in America.

16. Not to Worry
Rumor has it that Hutchison is coming back to Texas to run for Governor, with Carole Keeton Rylander Strayhorn as Lt. Governor. Hmmm, let's see... Keeton's sons are (1) Scott McClellan, White House Press Secretary, (2) Dr. Mark McClellan, Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services; he previously served as Commissioner of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, (3) Brad McClellan, Assistant Attorney General for Texas-Chief of Workers’ Compensation Section, and (4) Dudley McClellan, Assistant General Counsel for the State Bar of Texas. Sure makes me feel all warm and fuzzy to think of Hutchinson and Strayhorn's brood running the State.

21.  Can you fill me in? Is Hutchison favored to defeat Perry --
-- in the primary?

I'm no fan of Perry, but I just can't stand Kay Baily Hutchison.

29. Obviously, no one really knows , since
Hutchison hasn't announced her candidacy yet. But rumors have it that it will be a down and dirty race, to say the least. I don't have a favorite among them since I think the whole lot of them are dirty. I trust very few politicians, let alone Republican ones, and least of all Texas Republican ones. I think this whole State is corrupt. Sorry to be so negative... it's just hard to see what goes on here.

BTW, I do agree that Carole Keeton Strayhorn is smart. No doubt about it. But is she honest? I don't think so. She's done some good for the State but I don't trust her at all. And I trust her sons even less.

23. The only good thing out of it...
will be watching the TX repukes cringe if one of their own starts to run commercials on TX's crappy stats <health, kids, education..take your pick> from the last 8-10 years. What is Perry going to do? Blame the dems for making the stats up?? Can't do that since it is a fellow repuke making the accusations.
And if KBH is the one to run, the stats can be tied to the HER repuke party..again, can't blame TX dems for blocking any laws or making up these stats since the repukes have had total control over the state.
Hence, repuke powers-that-be trying to get all other repukes to not run and just let Perry go it alone...it's gonna get messy if any other repuke enters TX's repuke primary. Heh, heh..and then throw Delay into the mix, who gets to have him on their side and who has taken his ethics scandal MONEY???

19. I live here...
... in TX and I can tell you, there is no respite from the vapid, insipid and moronic phrases she dispenses with great skill.

My wife keeps her staff busy mailing out mind-numbinbly mediocre form letters in response to her inquiries.

Personally, I think Strayhorn, while a puke through and through, has more intelligence in her left elbow that Hutchison in her entire being.

If Kay runs, we might have a chance to get a Dem governor here :)

27. Ask her why her repuke district did better w/ a Dem prez
Edited on Sun Apr-17-05 11:05 AM by rainbow4321
Thrived and boomed under a DEM prez and has tanked/bottomed out under a REPUKE regime...foreclosures are thru the roof, layoffs/outsourcing....EDS, Alcatel, Nortel, the whole DFW "telecom corridor" is now empty high rise office buildings. ALL of this is IN her district. Within 3 miles of my house there have been at least 6 gas stations shut down, a few bulldozed/leveled.
ALL under her regime's leadership! Unfortunately, the voters here are a bunch of mindless sheep that have yet to connect the dots between who they put in office and what the hell has happened in Collin County.

18. Let me tell ya...
I don't know which is worse..having her as my district's rep or having Sam "I'm flying over to nuke Syria" Johnson as our senator. This area is so neon red it makes the rest of Texas look blue. KBH has been making the rounds here in the last couple months...once at a fundraising dinner that Coulter attended and then another at a book signing event..her book puts Condi Rice in the same category as Sally Ride and Nadia Comaneci. Ummm...is it not a LITTLE too early to say Rice has "achieved success" and to say she has "contributed to the country's future"???

http://www.zwire.com/site/news.cfm?newsid=14104287&BRD=1426&PAG=461&dept_id=528208&rfi=6

In engaging vignettes, the senator examines pioneer women from different eras, fields, and backgrounds including Emma Willard, Clara Barton, Mary Cassatt and Amelia Earhart.

She follows each biography with interviews of contemporary women still breaking barriers today in American government, business, media, sports, art, and education. She offers profiles of women such as Geraldine Ferraro,Condoleezza Rice, Carleton Fiorina, Nadia Comaneci, Barbara Walters, and Sally Ride. She tells how these women achieved success and the best advice they have for other women who are striving to accomplish and contribute to the country's future.

22. she is the epitome of GOP womanhood, and perhaps a vp choice for hagel
while she offends thinking people everywhere, she is the projection of what conservatives believe a woman should be.

i tell you plainly, she is well liked by republican women i chat with and they like the fact that she is civil, courteous, and speaks for them.

underestimate this woman at your own risk.

if the GOP picks a woman on the ticket its either her or elizabeth dole.

humanity. Especially when she talks about her family. I choke.

She has absolutely no regard for her "family" and her "grandchildren", unless they have a bunker somewhere. She and her ilk are killing us all.

Bailey for GOV in whatever year comes next. Just shoot me.

but rudely. She and her staff live on another planet. They are not from Texas and they could give a shit less about her real constituents.

She is a "human stain" upon us all along with being a real embarrasment to me as a "texan". I hate the B>>>>>

And now there are rumors of her running for GOV. God help us all.
