What did Zahi Hawass find in the chamber beneath the Sphinx?
Do you think Egyptologists are pouring over these
ancient texts even as we speak? Could anyone decipher the language of the texts even if we had them?

4. I believe Hawass would claim the chamber was never opened
Seems to me this is very unlikely.
This is pure speculation, of course.
I believe he secretly opened that chamber.

5. But what did he find?
And why does he spend so much time diverting our attention
from it? Last I heard he was excavating the graves of peasants
or some such thing.

7. Yes, he did! (Or maybe he did not.)
The ongoing controversy over the Sphinx at Giza
gets some folks all riled up.
Some believe they are much older than believed.
Some believe they contain a 'Hall of Records.'
And while some cursory tunnel digging has been done
there definitely are/were large unexplored chambers beneath the
Sphinx.

9. Possibly. I, for one, would like to know.
Why would anyone build something as awesome
as the Sphinx without putting something cool inside?
It would certainly be a great vault for the storage
of comic books and oreo cookies.

13. he went in the basement of the Sphinx
Despite what we all told him.

First, one of the steps broke and he fell down the last three steps.

Then, just as his flashlight quit working, a cat jumped out of nowhere and scared the Ra out of him.

Then he found that the light switch didn't work.

Then the furnace came on witha roar, causing him to dum a load of ankh in his pants and casting an eerie red glow on everything.

Then he heard a wierd creaking sound coming from out of a dark corner.

But it all turned out to just be a bunch of ancient egyptian boxes full of the crap they didn't need upstairs in the Sphinx living room . . . paperback scrolls, a broken abacus, a couple of mummified crocodile bookends and some ancient polyester "skorts." They did find Tut's old unicycle though! That was pretty cool.

14. The prophet -- Edgar Cayce made some predictions
doubtful that he was correct -- but there's been lots of speculations about what will be found.
