Anti-Japanese sentiment in China
http://www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/asiapcf/04/16/china.japan.ap/index.html

The Chinese are angry over World War II. This is the first step in preparing your nation for war. Identify your enemy, same thing happened with Hitler and the Jews. Sounds like the Chinese are being stirred up into a nationalistic frenzy by their leadership. As discussed in another thread, there is a lot of pent up testosterone in China because of the lopsided male demographic. This may be the spark that carries us into a global conflict.

4. Oh, the "Red Menace"
has always been on the back burners for the Republicans. It really is a love hate relationship with the U.S. and China. Luckily, your average American is to obtuse to understand our foreign policy relationship with China to deem them a threat, otherwise the war drums would definitely be beating in that direction. Believe me the Neocons have plans for China.

6. And, Cuba. And, Venezuela. And, Brazil. And, Uruguay. And, Bolivia.
We gotta keep them Reds at bay before they attack Miami Beach and force Universal Health Care down our throats and improve the educational system.

3. Oh god please not the lopsided male demographic c---
That's a Freeper staple and I got sick of reading that stuff over there real fast when I still glanced at it years ago before DU.

This is a simple case of the government deflecting criticism at home and now trying very hard to contain the issue. I'm told from someone who's been recently visiting China that China's own news is not permitting any coverage of the anti-Japanese protests at all, using them exclusively to pressure foreign nations while concealing knowledge of them at home.

5. I didn't realize that was a freeper talking point.
Are you saying that there aren't an over abundance of males in China? Or that freepers use that statistic to scare up a military posture with China, citing that an all male society would be a threat to the region?

7. And I'm over Ottoman excesses in SE Europe.
China's government's bred the problem for their own ends. Chinese racism (not the right word, but I haven't succeded getting "ethnicism" to catch on) wouldn't be tolerated on DU if they were Americans, or maybe even white.

It's not serious enough this time. No global conflict. China'll get a hold of the problem. Maybe next time.
