CNN covering the blogs could not be more lame
It truly is one of the absolutely most idiotic segments I have ever seen, even from CNN. Its so bad it makes me unconfortable, but like a really bad car accident, one watches through his fingers.

CNN...so hip...so now...</cabbage patch>

2. "Lame" ? It's the halt leading the blind.
Sometimes I watch the segment to see what their audience is getting.

Comedy, it's that simple!

lol

4. bingo!
I stopped all my corporate media contact after the election -- with the exception of checking in to see what my neighbors were being fed.

And, remember, AOL not only dumbs down, it actively seeks to control your interaction with your machine and with the net.

5. I've given up on CNN
Except for Lou Dobbs (he's the only one saying anything negative about the bushites - but even he ticks me off sometimes). Anyway, CNN has so often embarrassed me by their unprofessionalism, I just wont take it anymore.

6. I frankly believe they are more deceptive than Faux because

they try to maintain the appearance of objectivity.

So, reasonable people believe they're getting news news, not "chicken noodle news" as a DUer described it to me, or as I do less graciously, "Cr@P Not News".

9. My luncheon friend told me this week, she only watches fox, and she
shops at mal-wart too!! I started my weekly rant about mal-wart and she said "oh, quit yelling at me", so I backed off. I really should have known she'd shop there. For her 40th birthday, she had this fairly large party, and all the gag gifts she got, she brought them back and got money back!! She didn't even buy them and she brought them back and got money for the items!!! So I should have known she'd shop at mal-wart for the low prices.

how much those @ssholes are costing us and will cost our kids.

7. Did they really use that made-up word?
"blog" is not a word. Why didn't they just call it what it is? It's a web log. You know whenever people make-up words like that they are trying to deceive you.

8. making up words
is an attempt to deceive people?

How, exactly, do you think languages change and grow over time?

10. Immaturity?
Remember, right after the last election, the internet was blamed for all those rumors of malfeasance? lol

The same week, the CEO of the AP gave a keynote in Hollywood to journalism students -- warning them that they had to keep up with the internets.

A little transmission here, a little demonizing over there, we'll survive.

11. I agree
CNN has really sunk since the TimeWarner merger with AOL. It's a damn shame. It's amazing the top management has not been fired for their horrible programming.

16. Them trying to discredit blogs only makes them look worse
--they are incredibly stupid. They empower blogs by trying to control the information they dish out. More and more and more people aren't falling for their BS anymore.

If they really wanted to secure their phony baloney jobs, they would simply switch gears and start being real journalists again. But obvioulsy that are too stupid to do such an honorable thing. Until then, they will just continue their downward spiral.
