7. In the Mid 70's when Jim Bakker and his PTL ministries were in full bloom,
I had an occassion to go to Charlotte, N.C. on business. My cab driver drove past the PTL Mansion and asked me if I knew what PTL stood for.I said, it says Praise The Lord.He said: "Wrong. It says Praise the Lord and Pass The Loot.".

8. Why not add the title of "radical cleric?"
It's clear, succinct, and very descriptive. For example, the radical cleric Pat Robertson said yesterday . . . . .

9. That actually works rather well, doesn't it?
And I think it would scare the Shiite out of many people, too.

10. my husband calls them the American Taliban
He's right, I've squared off with a few preachers and family members who were so pro-war it made me ill. Somehow they seem to ignore those parts of the Bible they don't like. One of my husband's aunts actually thought she was voting for Jesus last November, that's after 6 months of propaganda was sent our way via email- I had finally had it and sent the paper trail of George B's guard "service".

Actually I think the military should set up recruiting tents at NASCAR functions- or maybe church parking lots!

11. Proper names for fundie preachers: charlatans and con men
charlatans for peddling false religion, including promoting greed, blasphemy, and even murder in the name of God; and con men for hiding behind God's name to bilk the unsuspecting faithful out of their hard-earned money.

13. A lot of them are very smug about the Iraq war and Shrubs deficit...
...they are hoping and praying it is kick starting the revelation of St. John.

Can you imagine, having an entire group of people in this country with that little to live for, that they are hoping they are beamed up soon?

I can't help but wish these people would hurry up and leave so people who actually care about making the earth a good place to live could be in charge for a change.

19. But that's not a very specific name for them.
That includes many (most? all?) politicians, lots of professors, authors, psychics ... the mind boggles.
