The Springtime of our Awakening...?
The buds open and the flowers awaken. It just happens. It is natural. Will America also awaken this spring?

Will the moderate Republicans come to their senses? Will they see that they have a duty to defend their country over their Party? Or has the partisan divide grown so deep that no one can reach the other side?

Where are the profiles in courage? They don't have a "D" or an "R" by their names. It doesn't matter. America doesn't need another partisan. America needs someone that will follow their conscience and heart. America needs someone that will step forward and state the truth - no matter that it might anger the partisans.

Is this the spring that it will happen?

2. God I hope so!
Things are feeling pretty good, one person at a time, like the balloons at the Democratic Convention, slowly, one by one.

3. When Lincoln Chafee holds the power to...
... resist the appointment of an idiot like Bolton to the UN and he's waffling, I don't think so....

If one wants some strength, decency, courage and respect for the rule of law, it won't happen unless the public throws out the hoods, charlatans and demagogues from their national body.

In a democracy, all that counts is the majority, and they're mostly asleep these days. Right now, they're all distracted by bread and circuses. When the bread disappears and they're hungry, they'll notice what's been happening--but, not until then.

Don't hold your breath for any real change until the crash comes--not good for your health or well-being.

Cheers.

5. lol's, sadly. I was just going to post when the economy tanks will be
the wake up. I don't know if it will be a quick turn around with viciousness on these criminals or if it will be a slow awakening. But, Spring won't come really until people feel they are financially tanking and start looking for answers.

6. Unfortunately, there's historical precedent...
... for the opinion. If anything, the depression around 1890 was worse than that in the `30s (although there were no statistics collected then to prove it), and the public, in rather rapid succession, installed Bejamin Harrison, Grover Cleveland and William McKinley into the presidency, and continued to install some of the most corrupt people imaginable in Congress (including Mark Hanna in the Senate, whose reputation makes Rove look like a piker). In the process, they generally ignored the pleas for reform from the progressives as alarmist and hysterical.

And, in 1920, after Wilson behaved badly, what did they do? Elected Harding, who presided over the worst governmental scandals in the history of the country (and didn't have the brains god gave a goose), and then promptly put Coolidge in his place (now there's a simpleton to match Bush any day), and then, not learning their lesson, installed Hoover so he could create the next great depression. Only after that did the public begin to figure out they'd been had.

4. "Will the moderate Republicans come to their senses?" . . .
I'd be happy if the Democrats came to their senses . . .
