9. I think you're overstating this issue
but, that would be an interesting poll.

18. I think that is a premature assumption, only
time will tell. I am sticking with Dean and never blinked. :)

25. actually this poll so far
is showing Dean with a bigger margin over Clark than some other DU polls we have had. Appears that other candidates supporters are dwindling.

I see now that the stars here at DU are aligning in their usual positions.

2. I am undecided as to who to vote for and have
not committed yet. But, sadly, I am coming to the realization that that the 04 president has aready been chosen for us. I polled Clark

13. Its important to keep your post in mind
This reminds us that for many its not a matter of "Who will you vote for" or "Who do you support", its "who will be the President".

8. Precisely my take too. As much as I like Howard, I think Clark has a far
better chance to dump Shrub. Kerry and Dean IMO have the next best chances and the rest of them I'd give about a 1 in 10 shot. It's gonna be interesting no matter how it all shakes out though.

15. I wonder who it was
That put that idea into your head that Clark has a better chance than Dean? Talking points on the TV maybe? Or the polls that seem to show that people want a military man to counter Bush landing on the carrier?

20. Nobody "put it in my head". In the real body politic, like it or not,
what resonates with the electorate is what might be called "stage presence."

Clark has the looks, the credentials and the affability necessary to get elected. Could you imagine Abe Lincoln being elected if he had to go on television, even clean-shaven? I'm not pleased that we've begun to pick presidents on such shallow grounds, but it is simply the fact of the matter.

22. Does that say something about YOUR belief?
That the electorates are a bunch of shallow fools? Controlled by images that are presented to them and manipulated by the media?

19. I Third The Motion
...but I'm still campaigning for Dean! Keep it up, folks! Even if he doesn't win the nomination, the Deanies can not be ignored. Besides, it's more fun going to meetups than to draft somebody and just sit back and watch.

17. not to threadjack;)
but does anyone remember a few months back when kerry was consistently at or near the top of these polls? I think this poll shows too how many Kerry supporters (granted there aren't as many any more) would switch to Clark in a heartbeat.

21. Well, right now it's 9 to 1 Dean vs. Kerry. I like both of them, Graham
too but I think he has little chance. But rest assured I'd vote for any of the ten against the arrogant bastard squatting in the WH now.

34. I used to think a lot of Kerry
but he's really seemed to struggle the last while when I've seen him. Having trouble answering the tough questions and has just seemed flat. Just not a good time to be trending downward, or to be perceived as doing so. I still like the man and he's in my top three, I just think he needs to break out of whatever mold it is his handlers have put him in the past couple months. This is all not to slam him, just to offer my personal feelings on the matter. I hope he turns things around.

24. Who we expect will be President or who we want to be President???
I expect it'll be either George Bush Jr. or Howard Dean. (I'm usually not much of an optimist, but things look to me right now that the Dem really has a shot. 6 months ago I would have given it to George Jr.).

I WANT it to be Kucinich.

30. Why do DU'ers here vote for only White candidates
there were only 3 votes for Mosely-Braun and Sharpton till I voted and made it 4.

What do people have against an African-American president? What about a female African-American president?

And people here claim to be liberal..

33. I don't have anything against an African-American president
or an Hispanic/Latino president, or an Asian American president, or an Arab American, or a Native American president, or whatever. I for one don't think Sharpton or Moseley Braun are up for the job. Of the ten people on that list, there are only three or four I think are actually good candidates. It's not about race, gender, etc.. Frankly, I wish Harold Ford Jr. or Bob Menendez were seasoned enough at this point to seek/reach higher office. Also a shame Ron Kirk wasn't able to knock off Cornyn (sp?) in '02 so he could be poised for higher office in the future. Anywho, being liberal doesn't mean you have to back a minority candidate simply because he or she is a minority candidate. That's silly.

32. Keep this poll going for a few days and see if it evens out.....not every
one has had a chance to see it....and the Clarkies outweigh the Deanies today on DU because Clark announced so his supporters are pumped. I'm not sure how long a poll has to be out there....but a few days I would think.......thanks for the link here.
