If repukes want to bankrupt the country, how will they tell their
future offspring that bankrupting the country was the moral and ethical and righteous thing to do when we've all been led to believe that being in debt and bankruptcy is very bad?

How will they be able to implant a lie that will work for eons to come? Or is it even possible??

3. Then we better remind people of self-serving paid-for politicians then.
While REAGAN is where the real deficit spending problem began, the hordes of selfish bastards we elect to serve US and not the corporate filth are hardly innocent.

5. I read a lot of astrology websites and ..........
they've predicted that in October 2008 the economy will be very fucked up. Of course a Democrat will be elected to make the tough decisions straighten(raise taxes and cut spending) out the economy and take the blame and then in 2012 a Rethug will be installed to fuck things up again.

Good ole America!!!!!!!! LOL

11. Welcome to DU!
No doubt a Democrat will have to clean this mess up and then when people tire of peace and prosperity they'll elect another fuckwit like Bush.
It's depressing, but welcome - - stay a while!

:hi:

4. Debt is the foundation of capitalism.
One of the most egregious examples of cognitive dissonance is believing that debt is bad, and believing capitalism is God's politic. Capitalism depends on "capital". Capital from other people. Loaned at interest. Before the usury laws were abolished, capitalism was virtually impossible.

6. They don't think that far. When it happens they will blame it on someone
else.

They're living the high life now, fergeddabout tomorrow

7. They'll just corrupt their kids with the money they've garnered themselves
This is how the aristocracy sustained itself, through their children.

8. They'll never believe or acknowledge it was their fault.
Most of them are like children - they will point fingers, blame Clinton, and believe themselves blamless.

The fact that they were warned by people smarter than they are, people who showed direct corelations between the policies they supported and our ultimate decline, will be outright ignored.

It's a bit depressing.

All the morons who didn't (want to) believe
Global warming is real will find a way to disassociate what happens with what they were told (again... by people with more education and intelligence) so they don't have to think they were on the 'wrong side'.

This period will live in infamy as "the Age of Ignorance".

May our children's children forgive us.

10. As much as that scares me, I think you're right...
I don't think they see too far into the future, because in their world it's a very short road.

Love your sig line, BTW.

12. That's what I was going to say too
They don't think there will be future generations to explain it too because Armageddon is coming shortly.

13. Good point. I think the possibility of someone using a nuke is for real.
Defaulting on the debt would be a good way to light the fuse too.
