Does anyone feel sorry for insurance companies?
I sure as hell don't. With Isabel coming, I am hearing that this could be a blow to insurance companies and my only thought was "Isn't that what insurance companies are about?". They play the odds and usually it's very profitable for them and once in a while they lose their little gambling game.

1. THey know the odds - they are the house
...And the house almost always wins.

And if insurance companies every loses "big" (like 9/11) they go spend $100 Million on lobbyist and get a $20 Billion bailout. It's a great return on their money.

7. Gee, lemme see . . .
No.

And I especially don't feel sorry for any insurance companies with a workers' compensation section.

8. Feel sorry for insurance companies?!
NO! And I am glad that some of them have workers compensation in place. Its a good thing. Corporations don't give a rats ass about us, so workers comp is a good thing.

10. Isn't that like sympathy for the Devil?
Fuck the insurance industry. Fuck them with Ron Jeremy's dick.

If they didn't spend so damn much money on their 90-story "World Headquarters" and those fancy-assed TV ads (how much did that whale cost, anyway?) then maybe they could afford to lose some bets once-a-while.

But instead, they either jack the opening bet up so high that nobody's playing at that table, or they quit offering that particular game anymore.

12. Not one bit
I cant feel sorry for anyone whose main complaint during a disaster is that he will only make $10 million instead of $25 million.

13. you do realize that its you who will be paying for lost beach houses
don't you ?

Real insurance companies won't insure these playgrounds for the rich so the government does ! Also most of the flooding damage will get paid for by you too !

So when they show that 3 million dollars beach house sliding into the sea, pull out your wallet and start paying up. You need to provide for the public good.

14. hell no!
The insurance companies are nothing more than a protection racket these days. You pay them a fortune for protection, but when you need it - they screw you.

Until the insurance companies are dealt with properly, our economy will stay broken.
