In fact, most of the bloggers I know were there but few got to ask questions. The point is this, not a single person on that panel was able to say the following and I am screaming bloody mad over it:

1). At the very least, journalism has to be based in fact and any credible reporting must be supported with factual statements, documentations, whatever. At the very least... no one said this!!!

2). At the very least, it is important to note that Left bloggers and right bloggers ARE not the same, as "someone" on the panel has suggested. The difference is, that while not journalists, the left uses fact as a tool and the Right uses propaganda and disinfo.... no one said this!!!! Example? Rathergate vs. Gannongate... need I say more?

3). Jeff Guckert/Gannon is not a journalist, not even by the remote standards of an idiot dog taking a dump on a newspaper. This "oh, because I have an opposing view" lie is ridiculous and no one said:

A). You plagiarized most of your work and that which you did not directly plagiarize, you had gotten directly via talking points. That is not news, nor commentary, or even blogging. Press releases my dear Gannon do not make you a journalist.

B). Making up statements that Senators said, spreading those statements to the right wing echo chamber is at best irresponsbile... which is not the case here. It was a clear cut payola/disinfo campaign via a GOP asset.

C). He did not just simply "get a pass" because "it was his time," and someone should have called him on it and said that unless the entire FBI/SS and White House security system is on crack, someone would have noticed that a hooker (criminal activity by the way) should not be near the president, if not arrested. Hey, Heidi Fleiss had to go to prison, why not Jeff?

D). His argument regarding peoples credentials after they report on a story and then comment on it is pure crap. Let me point out that if I have investigated a story for 5 months, written countless articles about it (factual articles I dare anyone to find as not based in fact) then I think that would me me somewhat of an export on that topic, would it not? Example... Social Security scam letters, I am comfortable in saying, is something I can speak about given that I have spent 5 months investigating and reporting on them.
