Bush Invokes Lovecraftian 'Old Ones', quotes Necronomicon in pre-Inaugural
Quote from Bush’s pre-inaugural speech, the "Celebration of Freedom" held at the Ellipse on the National Mall, on Wednesday 19 January 2005: "We have a calling from beyond the stars"

Quote from Al Azif - The "Necronomicon" as cited by H.P. Lovecraft, from the section "Concerning Nyarlathotep": "I hear the Crawling Chaos that calls beyond the stars"

I've always kinda thought that on those days when he just gets back from Crawford after one of his benders, he looks just a bit like Cthulhu.

2. I love Lovecraft
Maybe he can use that famous 2 line poem (been too long since lit class).

For that not dead which eternal lie
For strange eons death may die.

All we need is references to the Great Old Ones, undead, and Dunwitch and we'd be set.

6. He must be damned if he read that far
I remember reading it and getting to the part where you are warned of damnation if you read beyond that point. So, I read four pages after that point and then chickened out. I hope I only get 4 pages of hell as opposed to the super-sized version. You know, it is odd and I thought I was going batty (per usual) but that is not the first comment that struck me as sounding familiar.

I have an avid appetite for all reading materials in all subjects. I tend to go through periods where only a single genre might interest me for a while, some a long while and some I revisit over and over, like Nabokov, Gogol, etc. So my reading into gnostic history and metaphysics and occult history has been on and off during the last 15 years. I did spend about a good solid year on just the Golden Dawn and I thought I heard something in one of his speeches straight out of "777" but at the time, I thought I was simply crazed over the election and hallucinating. I mean really, this is not light reading for the moronic. This is highly intellectual, incredibly coded, and requires as a pre-request a good deal of other reading. In other words, something Bush could never read or even get.

But then again, he does not write his speeches and his past writers were never this capable with esoteric concepts. Now, Heir Rove loves the history of the Occult and would find it jolly to give historians coded language to try and understand.
In any case, your post reminded me of that particular quote that I never bothered to jot down because I thought I was going batty. Maybe a Google for Gematria (Hebrew for 777) and Bush might bring something up with regard to his speeches. Honestly, I just don't see him as capable of even pronouncing Necro... let alone reading it.

It is a "prank" by Rove.

7. Narco-nomicon is more Bush's "speed"
"Honestly, I just don't see him as capable of even pronouncing Necro... let alone reading it".

Yeah, "Narco-nomicon" is more Bush's "speed".
