Mel Martinez blames the democrats
Mel Martinez says the memo was written buy his legal counsel but he didnt know about it and didnt read it at all.

He then said he passed on , this document that he didnt know or read, to a Democrat thinking it was another document that he had read.

Of course the media is blaming the democrats and are comparing it to the so called Rathergate.

Of course noone in the media is saying how disgusting the GOP was in using Terri's death.

1. What a dumbass (lie) answer to cover up his dumb ass
If he DID give it to a Dem without reading it, then he's too stupid to be an attorney in the first place, let alone the Attorney General.

These people lie their asses off ALL THE TIME!!

8. We as Dems should have stepped up to the plate and be Thy Brother's
Keeper and turned and warned them of their folly. Why they would have done the same had it been the other way around. :sarcasm: :dilemma:

9. Mel Martinez...Not Alberto Gonzalez
Martinez was a rejected judge nominee...now the wingnut puppet that replaced Graham from Florida.

Gonzalez is the hack BFEE enabler from Texas.

2. Keep in mind...their mission is dis-reality - they need to construct the
most vile and spaghetti type of confusion through imbecilic, black-white, simultaneous lying....any and every gimmick that a mortal's mind can come up with.

This is their mission...this is their work....it keeps people arguing for hours about who heard what, who heard if first, who they heard it from, etc., all in an effort to try to figure out which could be the truth or the lie, but before the conversation is complete, a new scandal breaks or a civil right is rescinded.

Combined with a conspiring and participating corporate media and Dems who are going every which way, crooked judges...they are winning.

We live in the United Corporations of America!

Not happy?

3. Definietly a cover up
I think he could be taking the fall for someone else. Isn't he a first termer? So maybe they're having him do that because he's new.

4. According to the network news tonight,
it was written by a senior aide to Martinez. That was reported on both NBC and ABC, and, curiously, they both used the phrase "mystery solved."

I don't think so. It smells hugely like a coverup. The senior aide to Martinez has resigned. It sounds like he's taking a fall for SOMEBODY.

That Martinez claims he passed the memo along to Tom Harkin without having read it smells fishier than Lake Nokomis.

6. The things that kill me are:
1) No Republican has condemned the memo, only the leaking (and the hinted-at "fabrication")of it (correct me if I'm wrong)

and

B) Our vigilant press hasn't mentioned that no Republican has condemned the memo

14. This is a good account (bad link- check yesterday's news))
clearly showing the republican connection to the document. What's unbelievable is Martinez's contention that he didn't read it or know about its contents.

17.  St Pete Times..."OOPS"..
personally I think a recall should be made of this LIAR

Martinez is fitting into this agenda quite well......he lies all the time.....read this ripping his asshole out article from our local paper.....

in part:
Remember when the campaign treated reporters to a conference call that branded an opponent's political consultant as a homosexual? Martinez said the activists weren't speaking for him.

Remember when the campaign mailed a slick brochure depicting his primary opponent, former U.S. Rep. Bill McCollum, as backing "the radical homosexual lobby"?

Martinez said "those words were spoken by others." Remember when his office sent e-mails to Miami radio stations depicting federal agents in the 2000 Elian Gonzalez ordeal as "armed thugs"? Martinez blamed "someone who was writing for the campaign."

18. New gaffe, old Martinez defense
St. Petersburg Times:

New gaffe, old Martinez defense

Sen. Mel Martinez turns to familiar words to explain his office's role in an unsigned memo on Terri Schiavo.

<snip>

WASHINGTON - In the final, critical days of fall's Republican primary for the U.S. Senate from Florida, Mel Martinez's campaign sent out a flier accusing his conservative rival of catering to "the radical homosexual lobby."

Under blistering criticism, Martinez said he had not seen the flier before a staffer mailed it to voters; he promised he would never again be caught unaware of his staff's actions.

Just a few weeks later, he again blamed a staffer for a news release from his campaign that called federal agents "armed thugs" for seizing Elian Gonzalez from his Miami home. Martinez said he wasn't responsible for the "inappropriate" comment. "It was put out by someone in the office," he said.

Now it has happened again.

How dare they think the high n mighty GOP could be involved in anything so scandlous. How immoral of that Democrat for even showing anyone that unread, unknown memo, that no one else read or knew about. It was mere coincidence that they quoted it hundreds of times... great minds think alike ya know...
