Bush was right about Iraq!
I was sitting in my car listening to Rush Windbag today and he took a caller. At this point I can not even remember what she was talking about but to paraphrase what she said....
'Rush, when are these people going to learn? Bush was right about Iraq...." and then she went to mention several other things the RW party was 'right' about!

I am sorry I can not tell you what the call was about but I was so stunned by this statement that I did not even really hear anything else after that.

Bush was right about Iraq? What exactly was he right about? Was it that they would throw flowers at our feet? Was it the WMD's? Was it the connection between Iraq and Al Queda? Was it the link between Iraq and Osama? Was it the mission accomplished part? Because if it was any of those, maybe I have missed something here. Did some late breaking news get announced by the liberul media and I missed it? How in the heck do you come to a conclusion that Bush was right?

Maybe there should be new bumper stickers "I am a brain dead republican and I voted for Bush". Bush was right? Incredible, what alternate realty does she live in?

3. Whistle....
I believe in the saying that you keep your friends close and your enemies closer. If we do not know what the right wing is saying and what their talking points are then we can not fight them. I think of it as an education on what I need to brush up on to give them the good fight. I don't like it and after that comment I do admit to turning it off, but I feel it is my duty to know what the other half of our country is saying and planning.

5. This is the new right wing meme, "bush was right about Iraq."
Like everything else they repeat in their infinite echo chamber, it has no meaning, no substance. It just sounds good to them when they say it.

There's nothing to be right about yet, and plenty wrong. The problem is, those who know for certain he's wrong, well, they're all dead now, aren't they? x(

11. My response to meme
Email quote from someone repeating the meme.

“Also, it really seems like things have been quieting down in Iraq since the elections. The terrorists are on the run and Iraqi security forces are taking over more of the duties.”

Are you so sure? Or is that just the spin? These are just the recent American dead. Doesn’t count all Iraqis or the wounded, including many horribly wounded, both Americans and Iraqis.

22. The media puts on a nice show for the elections and now Bush is right...
Just rediculous. It shows how little some people pay attention to world history and regions.

It's impossible to count how many embattled elections just like Iraq's some nations in Africa have had. And are they now peaceful and stable and worry-free? No.

It's obvious the US does not want to leave Iraq be just yet. They still want control over Iraq; the immediate interests of the military and corporations is not well-embedded in Iraq. Even though many formidable Iraqi figures have demanded for the US to leave, Bush refuses to. They didn't even allow elections until Sistani demanded them. What kind of freedom is bush bringing to that nation?

I think she's repeating
the new RW talking point. The end justifies the means. If Iraqi's pull themselves up by the boot straps and make something good come out of this, then of course we'll take all the credit for their hard work. Well the credit and the oil.

8. I had not realized it is a talking point but I guess you are right.
The thing that does not make sense is that even if it ends up ok...and we all know that 'insurgent attacks' are happening even more often so things are NOT OK, well just because it ends OK does not make Bu$h right.

Just because Bu$h falls and trips over the Rosetta Stone does not make him an archaeologist in his discovery. It make him a clumsy clod.

Just because Bu$h takes Cheney's drink and consumes it,when it happens to contain poison, does not make him a hero or a doctor for saving Cheney. It means he is too stupid to tell the drinks apart.

I know I am preaching to the choir but Bush WAS NOT right about Iraq. :grr:

that Iraq would immediately revert to corrupt and brutal dictatorship, while US toops looked on and wondered what the hell they invaded for. Oh, wait--he didn't predict that, either.
