What did Clinton say about the pope that has the pukes in a frenzy?
My dad said there was something on crossfire about a "controversial" statement about the pope?

1. He probably called him "the Pope" or something totally innocent
like that. Doesn't take much to get repukes in a frenzy. Isn't that their normal state of mind, anyway?

2. He was asked about the Pope's legacy
and Clinton said, rightly, that the Pope will have a mixed legacy.

6. yes
here's the exact quote:

"En route to Rome, Clinton told reporters the pope “centralized authority in the papacy again and enforced a very conservative theological doctrine. There will be debates about that. The number of Catholics increased by 250 million on his watch. But the numbers of priests didn't. He's like all of us - he may have a mixed legacy.”

22. It's true...
A former theology professor of mine is a chaplain and Catholic theologian (not a priest because of that whole female genitalia thing). She said this Pope has set up extremely conservative channels that will only allow other conservatives to continue to serve as pope until the next infallible one changes it. She said it scares her a little bit because most people don't know how much the new workings will subject women to even less power than they have right now.

Clinton speaks the truth and the corporate media and the pukes go nuts...they can't take the truth. It threatens their alternate reality.

And what did he say that was so....bad??? If anything, he just noted part of the Pope's humanity in that we are all remembered for different things.

Hasn't he learned by now that repukes are the only who has rights and who can speak for the rest of us?

I guess his hanging out with poppy and dim-son isn't scoring him any points with the repukes after all. :eyes:

"There will be debates about him. But on balance, he was a man of God, he was a consistent person, he did what he thought was right. That's about all you can ask of anybody."

32. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.
I was pretty active on the Castor campaign and believe with every ounce of my being that she received more votes on election day. At the very least had more voters intending to cast votes for her on election day. I don't give a rat's hiney if I'm accused of sour grapes, but boy would I love to see him go down in flames.

Idiot who opposes a minimum wage hike of a dollar an hour because, "gee folks it's only $40 a week." I sure don't need someone that out of touch representing my interests.

12. He said the Pope had a mixed record. Freepers agree when Rush sez it
See, the Pope agreed with Clinton, Gore and Kerry about 90% of the time on poverty, environment, healthcare, fair wages, exhausting diplomacy before war.

The Pope agreed with Bush ONLY on abortion and stemcell research. That's it. And Bush doesn't even want to make abortion illegal.

So, the freepers agree with Bush that the Pope was wrong about war and wrong about fair wages for working people, and wrong about poverty concerns, and wrong to put healthcare above profits, and wrong about environmental concerns.....

so... What's their beef?
