They count on our NOT doing that. See how many times people report $2.34.9 a gallon as $2.35. I feel 99.9 percent certain most people say $2.34 a gallon.

i can't tell you how many times i've had people correct me when i round up.

let's say i see something that is $19.95. i say:

"its $22"

"ACTUALLY, its only $19.95"

"i added the tax, too"

"that's only $21.70"

"that's TWENTY TWO DOLLARS, you idiot! what are you going to do with 30 GODDAMN CENTS?"

It's all to make it sound cheaper than what it is. People are now paying more attention to the 9/10 than ever before.
