Being for human rights is not supporting illegal immigration
Let's get one thing clear with the minutemen defenders. I agree illegal immigration is not a good thing. It isn't a good thing for Americans as it drives wages down and it isn't a good thing for undocumented workers as it taxes them without representation, exploits them, and makes them a criminal by definition - therefore when a criminal act is committed against them, they are less likely to report it in fear of deportation.

That said, the 4th amendment makes NO DISTINCTION as to citizenship.

The same people claiming they want more border patrol just re-elected a guy who is squandering those funds on his corporate cronies in Iraq.

In a bad economy, someone will get scapegoated.

The minutemen will simply drive the coyotes who rob these migrants into rougher terrain where there is MORE danger to the undocumented.

1. well said
isn't it annoying how even our own in some of these forums have learned the republican trick of framing "either or's".

Wish they'd stop - it's not what we're about.

2. Yep, bush* cut over 9000 Border Patrol agents in his budget.
If he wants to stem the trade in illegals, he would bust the chops of the employers who hire, and too often, abuse illegal entrants. If the law and order vigilantes REALLY want to stem the flow, they would insist on busting employers.

Picking on the poor trying to find a way to survive in el norte is just racist. Calling it 'defending America' while letting employers off the hook is just another case of scoundrals wrapped in flags.

NSMA, PM coming your way in a few minutes
