Research request for you pack rats out there - Credit Cards
I am trying to lay my hands on a credit card statement from the Master Charge/Bank Americard days of consumer credit.

Here I get specific. I would like a statement that has an overdue balance.

An old Sears or other department store credit card statement would be OK and you can strike off personal info.

I am working on an article about fees in the consumer credit industry.

I would appreciate any help and please help me keep this request kicked.

1. I don't have any...
Pretty interesting, how's about a Diner's Club card statement
from the days when CC interest was tax deductible?

Anyone have one of those?

4. Yeah...
It was when I was a youngster...

Since most cards were "company cards" used for business
travel the interest was tax deductible.

Figures... Don't it?

Diner's Club and Carte Blanc(sp?) were two of the first.

I tried looking it up for you... Too much junk in the
way though.

9. All consumer load interest
was deductible in those days. Went away in '85 or '86.

2. This would be before Ronald Reagan, right?
I got my first credit card during the glorious reign of our dear departed Saint Ronald Reagan.

I cut it up and sent it back with a check for $34.98 cents and two pennies after I was charged $35.00 for a late payment.

6. When you said packrat, you must've meant
organized packrat. I cannot imagine someone keeping that good of records.

Good luck though.
