Activist hit by pie at Butler lecture

A conservative activist who criticizes what he calls the leftist domination of college campuses was struck with a pie Wednesday night at Butler University.

David Horowitz, president of the Center for the Study of Popular Culture, had just started a lecture at Butler when he was hit.

Horowitz's supporters followed the assailants out of the hall, and confronted them with what a witness called "pushing and shoving." However, the attackers got away.

"There's a wave of violence on college campuses, committed by what I'd call fascists opposing conservatives," Horowitz said. "It's one step from that to injury."

3. Frustration, rage at bizarro world
Tonight should be interesting...keep us posted on his comments at the event? thanks. How many have been hit now? Don't forget the Conservative professor who opined that these pie-throwings by the leftist community will lead to the lefties using guns instead of pies. Snicker...he doesn't get it.

2. Ha,ha,ha,ha......

Fascists opposing fascists he means. It's a set-up, staged to draw attention to conservatives who know they are losing ground. If these had been real campus protesters they would have stayed and fought the conservative freepers who came after them.

but they're so full of pie-y goodness!

strang they have no trouble with their washed-up spokesboy dennis miller going on the tonight show and telling people to beat up antiwar activists

or when glenn beck's followers beat up the protestors at his "rallies for america," which happened here in huntington

6. if I recall correctly from childhood
pies are traditionally thrown by and at clowns. How does that translate into gun violence?

Doesn't this say something about security though, if someone can come into a lecture hall with a fully loaded pastry? I'd be more worried if I were a liberal speaker--then I'd start being concerned about guns.

7. I keep thinking about Arlo's lyrics....
"You know, if one person, just one person does it they may think he's really sick and they won't take him. And if two people, two people do it, in harmony, they may think they're both faggots and they won't take either of them.
And three people do it, three, can you imagine, three people walking in singin a bar of Alice's Restaurant and walking out. They may think it's an organization. And can you, can you imagine fifty people a day,I said fifty people a day walking in singin a bar of Alice's Restaurant and walking out. And friends they may thinks it's a movement."

And thats how a movement starts - one person at a time

11. Only Horowitz, a fascist, would call a pie-thrower a fascist *LOL*.
He's the one who's with a group of fascists creating a hostile environment for democracy. What the hell does he expect,...for lovers of democracy to embrace his fascism?

Geez. :eyes:
