8. Maybe it's paranoia but it seems to me that Keith takes
vacations anytime there is a hot story out there (Delay).
Wonder if that is by accident?

11. Sick leave -- KO's stomach turns having to do Popechat.
He looked out of sorts the other night trying to handle Pope events in a professional, reportorial manner. He was stifling a gag. It wouldnt surprise me that he asked for time off.

I cant believe the coverage. I just cant believe its happening this way in 2005.

12. Keith's staying in the 8 p.m. slot
*ucker Carlson in at the 9 p.m. slot, followed by Squint at 10 p.m.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6902209

Tucker Carlson will join MSNBC, it was announced today by Rick Kaplan, President of MSNBC. Carlson will start with the network next week and will host a primetime program at 9:00 p.m. ET. The program is in development and will debut in second quarter.

Keith is on vacation because he was the lead anchor all weekend for coverage of the Pope's death (he stayed Saturday night until 2 a.m. and worked another four hours Sunday and that doesn't include prep time since he writes most of his own material). It's probably just comp time.

13. He NEEDS a break
He was on something like 8 hours straight for 4-5 days covering PopeWatch2k5. He was the one decent anchor that MSNBC used the whole time. Tweety just shouted the whole time (when he wasn't making stupid jokes), Scarborough was trying to milk the religious aspect for his own gain, and Dan Abrams...what the hell is he doing Pope coverage for anyway?

I must say Chris Jansing did a nice job on the ground in Rome, until Tweety showed up with his entourage.
