1. Yeah, prices go up 3 or 4 cents a night here.
I'm driving a lot less to save my money.

2. $2.59 (reg), $2.69 (unleaded), $2.79 (supreme) in Silicon Valley today.
As Ren and Stimpy would say, "Happy Happy Joy Joy."

5. Went up a dime/gal last night in Kansas City
Self serve reg is $2.25/gal. Mid is $2.35/gal. Premium is $2.45/gal. And we're driving out to the Oregon coast in two months. At least it's a Subaru!
Anyone remember that * quote from the 2000 elections, something about how if gas was as high as it was then, if he were president he would sashay over to Arabia and knock some heads together?

7. Ye Gods...
My Maxima's manual says that the car likes 88 octane. However, all you see around Southern California are 87, 89, and something else higher. So when gas started getting expensive, I no longer filled it with 89, and isntead did a half-and-half thing with the 87 and the 89, making it 88.
Last night, however, I go to my favorite Shell station, and I drive up to the pump, get out, and I am astounded at the price I see... $2.53 for 87, and $2.63 for 89. So then I walk towards the intersection... and the other two gas stations on the other corners have the exact same prices.... so I walked back and used strictly 87.

So far, no knocking. I can probably get away with it as long as the weather stays warm here in California.

Egads. The price of living sure is going up.

Don't even get me started on how expensive food is. Even hot pockets are pricey.
