Narrated by Judy Woodruff. Novak was born Jewish, says he "never really connected with the faith." "Felt a spiritual need," went to Episcopal Church (it was too liberal). Started attending services at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in D.C. (almost never anything political). Met a young woman at Syracuse who told him "life is temporary, but faith is eternal." "Holy Spirit" was talking to him, through her. Converted. St. Thomas More is his "patron saint." Clip of him calling Democrats "vile." People know his faults, he says, but don't know how "bad" he was before he became a Catholic.

Judy thanks Novak "for sharing his private story of faith with us."

2. "warm/fuzzy" & "Novak" don't belong together....
Odd that he chose such an honorable patron saint. A man who died for his principles....
