If we win the Senate and not the white house
Edited on Mon Sep-15-03 10:14 PM by Hippo_Tron
Can we do an investigation of Ashcroft's justice department and uncover enough to force him to resign. I mean I know I'm dreaming here but man that would be awesome.

Edit: I'm not implying that we won't win the white house, I'm just saying that I'd REALLY like to bring out an Ashcroft scandal and force his resignation.

3. Ashcroft
I wonder if the Dem beats Bush, can they get rid of him? I thought he had a certain term of office, so I wasn't sure.

6. True but...
I would hope that we can dig up enough dirt to embarass the administration enough to force his resignation. I don't think congress can remove a cabinet member though.

7. I hope we win them all but the house and senate won't
be bad. Imagine Henry Waxman as chairman of his committees. SIGH!

8. Not likely
One, democrats are more likely to win the White House than win the Senate.
Two, what kind of dirt are you gonna dig up with a few more Senators that you couldn't with a few less? Face it, either there's no dirt to be had, or the people who have the dirt (regardless of party) are sitting on it and keeping quiet.

9. Not just a few more Senators...
But if the Democrats control the Senate than they control the oversight committees and can call an investigation if they choose to.

10. A Senate majority would give us committee chairmanships...
and subpoena power. Unfortunately, I can't see this happening. There are far more Democratic incumbents up for reelection in '04 than Republicans.
