Mother Nature was a Bitch this morning
in South Mississippi and South Louisiana. Heavy rain, strong winds, tornados. Lots of homes destroyed. No reports of any deaths yet. Weather map indicates it ain't over yet.

2. Headed our way. We just had 1 to 1.5 feet of rain Friday.
(Panhandle of FL) I don't think the rivers are going to take it. I might have to head home early if I want to GET home.

3. I saw that the NWS declared a Tornado Emergency earlier
That is usually only ever declared when a major tornado is on the ground, picking up steam, and moving slowly.

IIRC, the Oklahoma City F5 was a Tornado Emergency.

4. Carbon copy of last Friday.

The heavy weather is moving into western Alabama now. My wife is on an early evening flight out of Montgomery (just like last Friday). With the weather delays in Montgomery and Charlotte, she didn't get home until after 2AM Saturday morning. Plus I get to worry about her flying in that little Brazilian jet in tornadic weather. Man, I am so glad I don't have to fight that damned weather monster anymore!

On edit: Check out this lightning-strike map. Scary.

They can fly over the storms, and they have excellent onboard radar, so if they can't get over them, they can go around. I think she'll be justt fine.

on edit: WOW!! Thats a lot of lightning in a 2 hour period! My stepson is flying down for a visit from Cleveland to Tampa this evening. He'll be in the air from 5:30 to 7:30.
