Anyone into Qigong?
I want to learn it but there are not classes around here. It is like Tai Chi - a healing meditation type of Chinese Thingy.

I just read that it can give you a lot of energy and help heal specific parts of you body by breathing in energy from the air and "sending" it to different areas of the body.

It sounds really interesting and I am considering buying a CD to follow but I am not sure which one to buy. There are lots of them selling on the internet.

Has anyone ever bought one of these Cd's or know of a good institute that would make a good one. I don't want to end up with a CD like the Tai Chi one I bought a few years ago. The teacher had you spend 10 minutes with your knees bent and not moving. (Try it, tons of fun)

1. I have heard of QiGong
I have never tried it myself, but have friends who have. They think it is great.

As with Tai Chi, there are probably many different 'forms' of Qi Gong. I have practiced Tai Chi Chuan, Royal Yang form, for almost 8 years now. I have a group that meets saturday mornings in the park near my house.

On further thought, I would suggest trying to join a class rather than a cd. Much easier to learn and grow 'live'.

3. I've been to Tai Chi classes here but I looked around the net
and can't find any QiGong in my city. Maybe I can call some Yoga and New Age places.

5. Sorry, I just got finished
reading the novel about the last Star Wars movie soon to be released and I couldn't resist. Seriously, I have heard of this practice, but I don't know too much about it. I do some yoga, and I really enjoy that. I am hopeless about keeping to an exercise routine, but I practice yoga every day and I really feel good.) I remember seeing it mentioned in Yoga Journal, so I'll look at some old issues that I have and see what I can find.

6. QiGong is awesome
A few days a week I use a tai chi dvd that includes a full chapter of QiGong exercises. QiGong has always been my favorite part of tai chi, so often I simply jump to that chapter. It is very invigorating and relaxing.
I purchased my dvd here.

good luck!
