My fellow DUers....need some research help, please
For everyone who used to listen to Unfiltered on AAR, do you remember that earlier this year, Rachel and Lizz mentioned this interview that Shrub did with the NY Times. And they asked Shrub about an op/ed that his Wifey #2 wrote in Foreign Affairs Magazine, detailing the administration's foreign policy.

And Shrub responded by basically saying "This may come as a surprise to you, but not everyone goes around reading Foreign Affairs magazine."

Does anyone have a transcript of that interview, or know where I can find it? I've been looking for it. Thanks.

2. Thanks for looking.....
I'm almost sure they said it was an interview with the NY Times. Gosh, I wish I had been able to get that particular clip from Unfiltered on tape.

Again, thanks for looking.

4. I found the quote.....answered my own question!
Here is what he said: "I don't know what you think the world is like, but a lot of people don't just sit around reading Foreign Affairs," he said, chuckling. "I know this is shocking to you."

It said he gave this quote during a news conference.

5. Jeez, what an embarrassment he is!
No, Your Mediocrity, perhaps not Foreign Service magazine, but as the bozo responsible for the (mis)direction of our foreign policy you should read more than My Pet Goat!

7. Yep, definitely an embarrassment, but here is what I find more scary.....
That quote is an example of Bush's intellectual laziness.

He's correct that your average American doesn't just go around reading Foreign Affairs magazine on an average basis.

But he should be different. If I were President of the United States, and my top foreign policy guru had written a detailed article outling my administration's foreign policy, I would want to know what he/she said. If for no other reason, to make sure we are on the same page.

Bus is intellectually lazy. Think about it: when he first came into office, one of the first things the WH staff was told was 1) Bush likes to go to bed by 9:00PM and 2) he's not a big reader, so don't give him too many lengthy documents to read.
