1. In Philly and New York there are two other shows, on.
The one on Philly 39 is what I'm watching. It's a pretty interesting documentary about how Pope John Paul II squashed Liberation Theology in Nicaragua. The Sandinistas are part of the story. I just turned there, so I'm not much of an expert.

The one on New York 13 is something about Jazz.

2. Oh I didn't know that, sorry

I've always thought that Frontline and Nova, at least, were on at the same time throughout most of the country.

Again, sorry all.

Still, it is very interesting and may be worth your while to watch if/when it comes local. The term: "Born Again Jews" alone was a jaw dropper... talk about Kafkaesque!

3. PBS (and NPR) is different throughout all of the regions

I probably only know this for sure because I live in New Jersey, right between two markets.

Edit: that Frontline story sounds fascinating. Maybe more so than the one I'm watching.

4. Are Born Again Jews
the same as Jews for Jesus? THEY'VE been around a long time. Once in awhile I catch them on the radio, if I'm station surfing.

5. No, they don't believe in Jesus; they're Right Wing Orthodox
Edited on Tue Apr-05-05 10:11 PM by MsMagnificent
it appears. Even Ultra Orthodox (for one, women FAR away from the privileged men & the Torah)

One of their platforms is 'you need to rebuild the Temple for redemption' I took it to mean the coming of the Messiah (again, not Jesus -- in other words, the first and only).

Doesn't seem to matter that there are 2 Islamic mosques at the site of the temple -- tear them down.
Easy.
:(

Makes it even more interesting that the Fundy Christians think that the Anti-Christ is going to be the Jewish messiah (but they will usually only admit that among other Fundies. F'ing scary)

What better buddies could Israel ask for?! :sarcasm:

OOH! Next week's show is all about Karl Rove!

I love Frontline -- best show on television, ever!

edit: spelling Oops!
